Automation Engineer
Our automation engineers tackle exciting and challenging tasks, primarily focusing on marine installations onboard ships. The right candidate has a strong desire to innovate and the confidence to independently handle automation projects related to engines, propulsion system, and energy-producing systems.
You will play an important role within:
· Conducting on-site supervision during installation and commissioning of automation systems onboard ships.
· Designing and developing automation systems for marine applications.
· Programming and configuring PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems for shipboard use.
· Performing service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automation equipment related to marine engines, propulsion systems and energy-producing systems.
· Working with internal MAN automation systems to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
· Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions in marine environments.
· Creating detailed documentation and reports after project completion.
· Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations specific to marine installations.
· Providing technical support and training to clients and team members.
We imagine that you:
· Have a relevant professional education; perhaps you are an electrical engineer or have a degree in automation engineering, however we will provide you with all relevant product knowledge that is required for the job.
· Possess practical experience in programming and maintaining PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems, especially in marine environments. Experience with industrial networks and communication protocols is a plus.
· Are flexible and adaptable, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
· Are quality-conscious, service-minded, and able to work independently.
· Proficiency in Swedish or Finnish is mandatory. Have excellent English skills, both spoken and written.
· Are proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software tools.
· Contribute to a positive and healthy working environment within our team.
· Are able to travel: The job will include travel to ships during operation and to shipyards. Travel is normally within Europe, but global travel can be expected from time to time.

Where we need you
Our premises are located at Oljevägen 105 in Torslanda where we have our office, workshop and FAT test unit. Since this position will include a lot of traveling, you can work remotely. However, it´s important to us that you have the availability to come and meet us in Gothenburg on a regular basis.

In our Swedish organization we cooperate closely with our branch office in Finland. Together we are around 75 employees in Sweden and Finland. The automation team consist of 4 service engineers, and one automation manager. The automation team is working closely with our PrimeServ department in Gothenburg and Helsinki. In our group we focus on sharing knowledge and information to continuously develop our team. Our goal is to offer premium service to our customers while providing a motivating and fun place of work for our colleagues.
