Northvolt has a great job for an experienced automation engineering manager with a technical background in industrial automation systems. You will help build one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt is committed to a fully green production process through using emission free energy sources for production and recycling. As an engineering manager at Northvolt, you will play a critical part in supporting and growing people in our Automation team. You will make sure they thrive in their roles and have access to all the tools, training and coaching they need. As somebody with a strong technical background, you will also help guide and shape the design of our solutions and be an important influencer in our technology and architecture choices. You will help us build a strong culture, facilitate technical delivery and work with us to continuously improve the way we work.

You will grow and guide a team of engineers through recruitment, coaching, mentoring, establishing healthy processes, and general support.
Work towards ensuring the team is aligned on business needs, delivering the expected value.
Be involved in forming the way we design and implement our systems, both through support and direct involvement in design decisions.
Make sure our way of working and agile development practices are clear, modern and suited to bring out the best of the team.
Be part of the Automation management team and cross-functional collaboration on business needs, deliverables, and culture. You will collaborate with other managers in software, material flow, electrical engineering, IT, and infosec.
Work towards building a friendly, collaborative environment in line with the company culture.
Learn what it takes to manufacture batteries, build big factories, as well as continue developing your organization management toolkit and technology knowledge.
In the first year, your team’s successes will include:
Being part of the Northvolt story and making its first production-grade lithium-ion battery in its new Skellefteå factory.
Commissioning the first of four blocks in Northvolt Ett gigafactory.
Stabilizing the equipments and control systems at Northvolt Labs and Ett.
Making first data flow from the factory floor to upper level systems to turn into an operational digital twin.
The person we are looking for is strongly goal oriented, curious and eager to learn. You love working with people and finding ways to grow a team and its people to make them thrive in the work place and to do better work. You are passionate about technology and should be able to reason about and influence the direction we’re going on an architectural level. You have a technical background in software and automation engineering. Relevant experience in manufacturing industry is a plus.
The job is located in Stockholm with regular travel to Västerås and Skellefteå.
