Automation Software R&D Engineer to our Client in Västerås

You will be part of our clients automation research and development team, and will contribute as Automation Software Engineer developing the clients base standard for Ship-To-Shore and Automated Stacking Cranes.

You will actively work with implementation of automation solutions, crane control and sensor systems. This department of the client operates in 26 countries and has over 2,000 employees.

Your responsibilities:

- Developing systems and solutions for crane automation in IEC 61131-3 Structured Text.
- Working on both regular as well as safety related functionality.
- Developing software architecture documentation for developed solutions.
- Expanding your knowledge base of customer needs and technological developments in software engineering and automation.
- Pursuing new ideas for technological innovation and sharing expertise in team meetings and technical reports.



Your background:

- A Masters’ degree in Control Engineering, Physics, Robotics, Mechatronics or similar.
- Basic understanding of control theory.
- Competency in relevant programming languages 1131-3 Structured Text, Matlab, Python.
- Open to travel globally and support projects introducing new functions.
- A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies.
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills.
- Positive and proactive mindset and the ability to create a good atmosphere.
- English required, Swedish not mandatory but beneficial
