We are looking for dedicated and driven technicians/engineers in mechanical, automation and electrical disciplines for our Maintenance department to join us in our mission to contribute to build the world’s greenest battery. The roles are a part of our passionate Revolt Ett team based in Skellefteå. By joining us, you will be part of building the first in-house full recycling flow in the world. Recovery and effective recycling of end-of-life batteries is key to closing the loop on batteries and to achieve a minimal carbon footprint.
About the job
The need to recycle batteries is increasing and the construction of Europe's largest recycling facility for batteries in Skellefteå is ongoing and will start its production process to separate out valuable metals for reuse in battery production during 2023. The goal is to source 50% of the raw materials needed for cell production from recycling by 2030 and therefore more recycling facilities are planned at site. So, forget about everything you thought you knew about working in the industry, this is going to be completely different!
As a technician, you will be part of establishing routines and learning from both equipment suppliers and colleagues to become knowledgeable in your area of responsibility. You will be involved in establishing applicable routines, working with optimization, troubleshooting and establishing root cause analysis for machines and equipment. You will report to the Maintenance Manager.
About the team You will be a vital member of the Revolt Ett team in Skellefteå. For a better understanding of the maintenance needs, we believe that it is important that you actively participate when our machines and equipment are installed. You will receive support from many knowledgeable colleagues throughout Northvolt's organization. You must have a close co-operation with your colleagues with a mutual goal to maximize our production efficiency. We expect you to be experienced in Lean Production and/or in TPM, total productive maintenance. You must also have foresight and prepare for the future expansion.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
In close collaboration with the rest of the team participate in the installation and start-up of machine equipment, process, automation and PLC systems..
Collaborate with equipment installers, process engineers and production staff to understand and communicate improvements that need to be made.
Conduct improvement work with a special focus on safety and ensure that rules and regulations are followed.
Evaluate and propose necessary spare parts for the machine equipment and train operators and others in maintenance-specific tasks.
Read and understand flows and drawings as well as proactively maintain or repair various units or systems within your area of responsibility.

We believe that you have :
High school / college degree or other relevant education.
Good knowledge in English. Swedish is a plus.
A couple of years of experience from the process or manufacturing industry.
Knowledge and experience of TPM / Lean / 5S.
Good knowledge of improvement work, quality and safety.
Bonus points for:
Good technical knowledge in your field, e.g. mechanical, electrical, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics and / or PLC systems.
Good communication skills since you will work closely with many different people and teams.
High work ethic and good problem-solving ability.
