Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Scania's electrification journey is accelerating and the electrification of transmissions is a central feature of this move. The electrification of Scania's products plays an essential role in Scania's shift towards sustainable transport solutions and this is now our main focus area. We are looking for a design engineer to join the group that is responsible for electrifying Scania's gearboxes and designing electric motors who wants to have an influence on what Scania's electrified powertrains will look like in future.
Your role
As a design engineer you will play an important part in the development and quality assurance of our electrified powertrains. You will have the opportunity to join a team of highly experienced design engineers where you will be able to influence the design of entire transmissions and take responsibility for them. You will be responsible for designing electric motors and their interfaces, together with cooling systems. You will work closely with the group's test engineers to put your designs to the test in rapid iterations and receive fast feedback on the specified acceptance conditions. Working as a design engineer in a team will give you a unique overall responsibility and the opportunity to understand how our electrified vehicles are used by end customers. The role will bring you into contact with a range of different functions within the company and with other design groups and the marketing, purchasing and production departments. You will also work with our colleagues at MAN Truck & Bus and with external suppliers all over Europe.
Your profile
You must be self-motivated and have a positive attitude, a structured approach to work and a strong sense of responsibility. You will also be technically inclined and have a feel for dimensioning and optimisation. Experience of design, strength issues, manufacturing methods and advanced CAD modelling is a bonus. You are a qualified engineer or the equivalent and have experience of design engineering work. You have good spoken and written Swedish and English.
