Automotive SW Developer for Powertrain Controls External Projects

Automotive SW Developer for Powertrain Controls External Projects

Arbetsbeskrivning

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Scania is not only a truck and bus manufacturer but also a big supplier of stand-alone engines and powertrains. Do you want to take part in our electrification journey this might be your chance!

We are looking for an automotive software developer who will take on the challenge together with our team. At the moment, this team consists of 16 developers of which 2 are stationed at one of our customers in the US. Most of us have a MSc with focus on automotive, electronics or computers. Then of course, there are those who work more with drivability tasks close to the truck, those who enjoy deep-diving in the code and those who spend more time in close contact with the customer.

The main task of our team is to adapt the Scania powertrains to the needs of external OEM customers. The team takes responsibility for a wide part of the delivery chain. This means understanding the customer situation, planning the project and implementing adaptions of existing features as well as development from scratch for customer specific demands. Following up quality issues from the field and make sure that the software is delivered in time to the customer is also part of the work. All work is done in close collaboration with engineers from the customer side.

Your work tasks

As a development engineer your main tasks will be to adjust and develop features in the software according to the needs of our external customers. A typical work cycle means you will implement code based on the customer requirements and then test the code in reality until it works perfectly. The first iteration stages means optimizing towards a SIL or HIL environment, then you move on to vehicle testing on a test track. Finally, you need to analyse the data and handle feedback from the customer.

In order to allow for vehicle testing all software developers will be given education for heavy vehicle driver licenses (CE).

Your profile

We believe that you are customer-oriented with a can-do attitude and want to spread the Scania powertrain over the world. You should have a MSc within mechatronics, physics, computer science or equivalent. You have an interest for programming and previous experience of embedded systems. Knowledge of C-programming and MATLAB with Simulink/Stateflow is also necessary.

You are driven, curious, outgoing and has the capacity to come up with new ideas to achieve results. You like working together in a team and is driven by an international working environment with several competent colleagues around you.

You have a car driver’s license (B) and a professional fluency in English. License for heavy vehicles is a significant merit, as is any experience from the automotive industry.
