Commercial and Marketing opportunity, British Embassy, Stockholm
A vacancy has arisen within the Trade & Investment Section of the British Embassy (UKTI), Stockholm as Deputy Head of Team, and Head of Marketing and communications.
Outline
To act as the deputy for the head of commercial section (deputising in his/her absence, dealing with relations with centre, overseeing work of UKTI team) plus taking the lead on marketing UKTI services and British industry in Sweden.The marketing function is expected to be about 55% of the role with the deputising and section management the other 45%, including management of the chargeable services.
Duties
" Developing and delivering the right market & communication material and messages for UKTI in Sweden
" Leading for the overall UKTI commercial section on relations with Press and media
" Leading on development of UKTI specific websites, advertising, newsletters etc,
" Ensuring that UKTI & British business gets good media coverage and promotion
" Assisting each team with major PR events or activities where relevant
" Deputising for head of UKTI section in his/her absence.
" Overseeing statistics and quarterly reporting, credit card returns etc., management of chargeable work, plus managing administrative support if/when officer is recruited .
" Supporting the Head of UKTI in managing the UKTI team.
Skills/Attributes
Essential: Good understanding/background in investment or trade work
Knowledge of major Swedish industry, particularly biotech and ICT, and/or environment.
Evidence of good organisational and influencing skills
Evidence of good judgement
Experience and knowledge of media, marketing and communication skills
Proven management skills
Excellent Swedish/English both written and oral
Nice to have: Knowledge of UK market and business climate
Experience of talking to senior business leaders.
This is a full time appointment initially offered on a one-year contract basis.
