A vacancy has arisen for the position of Aviation Security Supervisor
The AVSEC Supervisor will be recognized by the Civil Aviation Authority as the person responsible for Aviation Security for UPS Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway.
Job Summary:
The Aviation Security Supervisor contributes to the development of Aviation Security programs.
You will ensure compliance by implementing internal, European, and international legislations to keep UPS, our people and civil aviation safe. You will also participate in the development and dissemination of Aviation Security procedures, training, quality assurance, reports, and Aviation Security systems.
This position conducts Aviation Security audits and participates in the examination of audit findings. You will analyze historical/current data to identify trends and to determine root causes action plans and preventative solutions.
You will lead, support and empower the UPS Avsec team in their duties, throughout the Nordic countries.
Responsibilities:
Ensure overall compliance of all site Aviation Security Programs.
Responsible to ensure compliance of approved screening methods.
Responsible to ensure compliance of the Chain of Custody process for secure cargo.
Manage the Nordics Aviation Security team.
Ability to manage a threat escalation situation.
Carry out daily, weekly and monthly Quality Assurance controls and Coordinate Internal Audits.
Support Authority Inspections.
Responsible for Security KPIs and on time Reporting.
Reports to Nordics General Security and UKIEN District Aviation Security Officer.
Liaise with internal functions e.g. Gateway, Operations, HR, F&A and BaSE.
Communicate effectively on Aviation Security with appropriate authorities in the respective Nordic countries.
Interpret and implement regulatory requirements.
Manage vendors.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent – Preferred.
Relevant education, with aviation security – Preferred.
Experience working within a Security environment.
Experience in Aviation Security – Preferred.
High competency with MS Office suite of applications.
Ability to work in a pressurized and dynamic environment.
Able to work under tight deadlines.
Good time management and communication skills.
Aptitude for analysis and problem solving.
Open to work flexible & additional hours (including nights and weekends).
Willing to travel, often on a short notice.
Understanding of International and national security legislation.
Leadership experience
Fluent in English, speaking and writing + 1 Scandinavian language (Swedish, Norwegian or Danish)
