You will work with us - Team Retail

A normal day at the Retail Team begins with a daily meeting where we go through our Trello board. On Tuesdays we have a team meeting and then we meet our stakeholders and together we identify wishes and how they should be prioritized. We often also run a demo of what we have developed and how it supports an earlier requirement.

We are responsible for an App solution used at Postal agents in Sweden and Denmark. In the app, the agents can, among other things, receive and hand out parcels to the recipient. If you have ever picked up a parcel from PostNord from an agent, you have seen our solution used.

We are an international team with several different nationalities and competencies such as Product Owner, Tech Lead, App Developer, Web App Developer, UX Designer, AWS Developer and QA. We are spread over Stockholm, Örebro and the Philippines. We speak English during our internal meetings, however, the official languages at PostNord are Nordic, so it helps if you have a good understanding of Swedish, Danish and other Nordic languages.

We work in a hybrid model, 50% in the office and 50% remotely. We think this facilitates the planning of the rest of life.

You will work on this

We are real power users of AWS Serverless. We like IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and we mainly use Serverless Framework for this. We code the lambdas in Typescript and they are usually connected via SNS/SQS, but we are in the process of switching some of these to EventBridge.

We apply a micro service and event based architecture that we think is pretty cool. We use Amazon CloudWatch and ElasticSearch connected to Kibana to keep track of everything that happens in the Retail platform. One of our goals is to work more and more according to Google's SRE principles and then we will spend part of our time improving monitoring and observability so that we can be even more proactive in acting on incidents before they reach our support team.

Another fun project we are working on right now is to migrate away our old PC clients at our Business Centers in Sweden to our Android mobile and tablet based solution as we did for all PostNord agents in the beginning of 2020. You may have seen it yourself when you pick up your parcels?

When it comes to app development, it is Android that applies with Kotlin as a base and we also have an iOS app. In the web we run Vue.js, and some older code base in Angular to be migrated. Could it be interesting for you who today are a good backender but want to broaden over the entire stack? The opportunity exists!

You need to have experience and knowledge of this

- A few years' experience of development.
- Has worked with serverless architecture and AWS.
- Relevant education in IT/system development.
- English in speech and writing.

It is an advantage if you have experience or knowledge in e-commerce solutions. We value the right attitude and that you want to be involved and take responsibility. It is a plus if you also speak Swedish.
