Bachelor Thesis: Digitalization of BoM Specifications

Position Description


In our department, we are supporting the Volvo Group factories in how to handle embedded software in the manufacturing process, and how to set up the hardware related to the embedded software handling.
Today we have a large number of out-of-date BoM (Build of Material) specifications created in Word, and we need to find a way to transfer this knowledge into a more digital form, to make the documentation easer to update.

Work tasks would include:
Analyze how to transform the material into a digital, flexible platform, to be able to re-use pictures and texts
Analyze a way to make it easy to update the information

We’re looking for people with these set of skills Required:
Currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Interaction Design, Cognitive Science, Computer science, or Software engineering.

Desirable:
Knowledge in LMS (Learning Management Systems)
Familiar with digitalization platforms
