Back End Development Intern

Global Product Compliance is one of the leading names in chemical compliance, and we are looking for an IT Intern to join our team. Are you a newly graduated programmer with an interest in functional programming and web development, with knowledge of the central technologies used in frontend web development (HTML, CSS) as well as a high-level programming language? If yes, you are the one we are looking for. Applicants should understand relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, and be familiar with a functional programming language.
Main Responsibilities:
Creating user-centered designs by understanding business requirements, and user feedback
Creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and mockups
Translating requirements into style guides, design systems, design patterns, and attractive user interfaces
Designing UI elements such as input controls, navigational components, and informational components
Creating original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches, and tables)
Identifying and troubleshooting UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
Collaborating effectively with product, engineering, and management teams
Incorporating customer feedback, usage metrics, and usability findings into design to enhance user experience



Education/Experience Requirements
We believe that you have:
Obtained or in pursuit of a degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Networking, Computer Science, etc.
Previous relevant experience in IT



Bonus Points for:
Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills
Fluency in other languages like Japanese, Chinese, Swedish, or French
Driven with a can-do attitude and able to adapt your knowledge to the business needs
Creative thinking, good scientific reading and writing skills
Knowledge within sustainability
Self-motivated, hardworking, detail-oriented and have the ability to keep it simple
