Backend Developer

Storytel is Northern Europe's largest audio book service. We are offering thousands of audiobooks and ebooks in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Finland, Spain & Russia, and is expected to to enter several new markets within the coming year. Right now we have more than 500 000 subscribers to our service coming from all markets mentioned above. We see ourselves as the market leader for streamed audiobooks and our focus is to supply a great experience to our customers and have fun while doing that!

We are now looking to expand our ever growing teams of developers and hopefully have you join us at Storytel.


About the role
As a developer at Storytel you will work with experienced developers across a wide field of technologies. Our teams works with mobile apps development, backend development, Web development, DevOps and more. Currently our teams are working to moving our services into the cloud as well as building new services when needed. The backend development is focusing in creating new services that are being run in Google Cloud Platform via Docker and Kubernetes. We are coding our services in both in Java and C# and we feel that having two of the major languages in our tech stack gives us a great advantage. We are looking for developers that are interested in learning and have an interest in sharing their knowledge. We have a strong sharing culture at Storytel and try to nurture creativity.

Required skills

- Experience of coding in either Java or C#
- Experience in writing unit tests
- Experience in writing clear, safe and maintainable code
- SQL databases - MySQL, MsSQL or similar
