Polestar is blazing a new trail, dedicating ourselves to the development and refinement of electric vehicle performance. Your experience in Charging Cloud Backend Developer would be invaluable to us both in concept work and when working with current designs for increased customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do

Propulsion software team is a part of the Polestar Propulsion Department, is a team with a mission to deliver results which exceed the customers’ expectations. The team consists of software engineers, calibration engineers and system designers. The area of responsibility spans from battery management software, inverter software and electric motor calibration, and on board charger software together with the charging end to end user experience. We work very closely with the ConX team do deliver end to end capable products to maximize the user experience.

We are now looking for a senior backend software engineer who is as experienced with designing scalable distributed backend architectures as with implementing and deploying said architectures in AWS, complete with implementing regression tests. You can create services and service layers that link existing backend APIs with new implementations to support front-end and connected-car software engineers in a pursuit to deliver the very best, and most stable Connected-Car services for our customers, including charging, security, vehicle-to-grid, login, logout, etc. You must consider uptime to be the highest priority and work together with the Vehicle Software Engineers to create complete system regression tests that verify each new feature and update that is staged and deployed.

Your responsibilities:

- Designing, validating and develop software related to charging in the vehicle but also support App development in cloud environments
- Build software and test the end to end experience with test vehicles
- Manage beta-testing and establish data-driven closed loop feedback of the performance, work with dashboards and metrics
- Push us in creating value and customer experience within the charging eco-system, develop functions and features that will lower the vehicle CO2 footprint by taking into account the CO2 footprint of electricity production and price.
