The roles

As a Backend Software Developer, you will have the opportunity to design, develop, and debug Java Back-end server software for our smart home alarm products of the future, developing critical software components that make everything run smoothly in our product portfolio.
You will work with a highly skilled and senior team, in a supportive and helpful environment, and with various internal teams.

We are looking for Java Backend Developers for four different teams all belonging to the same Product Application Department:

- In The Platform Foundation Team, you will work with the forefront of the Verisure development platform for all our customer-facing applications. You will be spearheading new functionality/infrastructure.

- In The Product Communication Platform (PCP) Team, you and the team will be responsible for software development of the back-end event handling, the infrastructure that handles Alarm and IOT events. The event-handling infrastructure is built around Java, MySql, Cassandra, and RabbitMQ and handles billions of events every day.

- In The Platform Com & Utilities Team, we secure that operators, internal users & external customers experience a connected system. We provide internal users with utilities to upgrade, troubleshoot, monitor & control signals from all components.

- In The Product interaction team, we work mostly with APIs that handle configuration and domain data when adding, replacing, updating, and deleting devices and Gateway installations. PI also provides resources where Verisure Innovation applications (MyPages, MyMobile and MyField) can interact with installations and devices.

To thrive in the role

Most importantly, you love to share your ideas and knowledge and are equally eager to learn from others. Besides collaborating with others, we love to spend time together, you can also work independently and make recommendations for improvements. You are structured, humble, and a great communicator.
It’s also great if you have the following qualifications:

- A few years of experience in backend development. We are looking for different levels of seniority, we value diversity, so any experience from 2 years and up is appreciated.

- Preferably you have an educational background in Computer Science or equivalent.

- We’d like you to have experience with as many of the following technologies and software development domains as possible: Java, Spring Boot, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, Microservices, Docker, Cassandra, MySQL, Ansible, and ArgoCD.
