Backend Developer to Tibber

Tibber is the first fully digital energy company in the world. They are also the only energy company with the mission to reduce the residential energy consumption in Europe by 20%, and let all homes use energy in a sustainable way. They are constantly challenging the dinosaurs in the market through the use of new technology and fresh ideas.

They have tens of thousands of connected electric cars, heat pumps, and smart home devices (we call them power-ups) that the Tibber platform controls for their customers in order to optimize and reduce their consumption and cost. What the role entails

You will belong to a small and highly skilled team and together you will have a lot of code to crack. You will be part of implementing and maintaining their integrations/power-ups with devices and vehicles that are connected to Tibber and to their partners. The areas you would get to work with are centered around their Smart charging and Smart heating technology. At Tibber, they are at the forefront of technology. This means that what they do is both fun and challenging as they more often than not are required to reverse engineer existing tech to get to their goal. At Tibber, they put great pride in both their tech platform and simple to use apps. But building a solution that works for every use case is hard, which is also why they put a lot of focus on providing tools for the true power users out there to build whatever they desire. This ranges from integration to smart home gateways such as Homey, to DIY solutions such as Home-Assistant and publishing their own APIs. Everyone at Tibber also works closely with their users to understand their challenges so they know what to build next. While their integrations are built primarily in .NET Core, knowledge, and experience in NodeJS is also valuable. Aside from development, you might also get to dabble with extensive secure network communication.

About you

You wish to thrive with them as a team, as well as in your work role. They believe that you’re truly passionate about software development, IoT, and doing something for a greater cause. In order for you to thrive in this role and with us they believe that you have worked several years within development and that you are comfortable with .NET and/or .NET Core. You have an exploratory mindset and you are curious about finding new approaches towards development and enhancing the experience of their customers. At Tibber they believe in accountability and ownership, and even though you will be a part of a team, they believe you to be structured and self-going since some of your team members will be based in other locations around the world. It is of course an advantage if you are already a Tibber member and familiar with their product.
