What’s in it for you?
Java Developer working according to Agile methodology preferable with experience from working with Test driven development and continuous delivery. Furthermore, it’s preferable having experience from diagnostic applications, car communication and automotive aftermarket experience.
This position is within Service Operations which is a part of the product area Ordering & Service Operations. The successful candidate will be a member of the TIE One Team. Today TIE application is used as a communication platform. It’s connecting 2500 Volvo dealers globally to their local helpdesk as well as their second level support provided by Volvo Cars centrally.
TIE One Team works agile in 3-week sprints with a Product Owner and coached by a Scrum Master. All development will be done by the team and all the team members are collocated in Torslanda. The team perform application changes (continuous improvements, new features etc) and corrections in the TIE application.
The application consists of micro services based on Java backend and web application front end. We have an automated release process making it possible for us to release several times a week. We host the application in containers on a cloud platform. Many of the people you will be working with have experience from global tech companies such as Spotify, Google, Microsoft and Ericsson.
What you’ll do
We are now looking for to staff up our TIE team with a Java developer to be able to successfully deliver a stable and high-quality application and develop new features.
You will be innovating our customer experience with a focus on building backend services primarily using REST APIs.
We use Java and Springboot framework to setup services for web frontends and we also use ElasticSearch and Grafana for our dashboards. Experience in PowerBI Analytics is good to have as well.
You will work together with quality engineers, frontend and mobile developers as a part of a cross functional team. Your main focus will be to service and enrich our customers digital onboarding and support experience. The position is located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
You and your skills
We think you are an experienced backend engineer who’s worked on several products in the past. You should have Java expertise and experience in deploying in a dockers/Kubernetes/Azure setup. Our CI/CD is based on Jenkins and Spinnaker. You should have a solid understanding of microservices. Frontend know-how is a bonus.
To be successful in this role you need to take charge as well as being a team player. You should have the ability to drive and create commitment. It is important that you have integrity and a change management mind-set. Agile and Lean are words that you are used to and practice a lot.
