Our mission
Diet Doctor was founded by Andreas Eenfeldt (M.D.) with the long-term goal of empowering people everywhere to dramatically improve their health. More than one billion people suffer from health issues related to type 2 diabetes and obesity, for which they're often personally blamed and rarely given the support they deserve. We aim to change that.

We’re fully funded by our members, so we don't need to show any ads, sell any products, or take any industry money. This also means that we have zero external investors, and are instead owned by the 40+ people who work here - and we offer all employees the possibility to buy a stake in the company regularly.

Technologies we use
At Diet Doctor you will get to work with a lot of exciting new technologies. We rely heavily on the following tools and technologies - but applicants are not required to have prior experience of all of them.

- Go is the primary language for writing services.
- gRPC is our main RPC framework that connects services.
- Kubernetes to schedule and run our workloads.
- Honeycomb.io to instrument our services.
- Google Cloud Platform and AWS - various cloud services.
- Terraform.
- MySQL, Postgres, PubSub.
- GraphQL.
- Tech and tools you bring in.


You should apply if you:
- Have a product mindset, care about end users and products they use.
- Have more than five years of experience working in a backend role.
- Are interested in distributed systems.
- Have some experience with strongly-typed languages.
- Are comfortable with cross-functional tasks i.e. infrastructure, automation, and operations.
- Are used to defining technical proposals, architectural decisions and driving initiatives across Engineering and the wider company.
- Have strong experience interacting with APIs, writing end-to-end tests, and consider performance and security when building web applications.

This is a full-time position, working primarily from our beautiful and airy Swedish HQ here in Stockholm, at Vasagatan 40, just opposite the central station.
