Base Maintenance Planner

Base Maintenance Planning is part of the Continuing Airworthiness Organization of SAS. Our team of Base Maintenance Planners ensures the planning and preparing of SAS Fleet base maintenance, modification, and defect rectification is performed in compliance with the approved AMP, TCH, and NAA requirements while helping to ensure that the required tasks are performed within the allocated ground time and in the most cost-efficient way. 
The purpose of the role is to ensure that the maintenance is planned in an airworthy, safe, and economical condition for SAS's fleet under the restriction of the requirements imposed through regulations of European Aviation according to EASA Part-M, Part 145 and EU Ops.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan, control, and manage heavy maintenance requirements (internal and external maintenance providers)
* Secure that tasks will be performed in accordance with AMPD, taking into consideration ETOPS, Critical Task, and CDCCL requirements.
* Plan accomplishment of Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins.
* Handle MEL and Defect Deferments such as structural repairs potentially addressed
* Act as interface between SAS Part-M and the respective Part-145 organizations.
* Monitor performance KPIs in close cooperation with the on-site SAS Technical Representative.
* Activate and coordinate pre-check tasks before maintenance visits at external MROs, as well as pre- and post maintenance visits.
* Closely cooperate with the MRO to ensure the availability of tools, parts/materials, and manpower.
* Report work performed and follow up on outstanding tasks in MMIS (AMOS).


Requirements

The ideal Base Maintenance Planner should have the following:

* A Bachelor’s degree in aviation or other relevant background from the aviation industry.
* Safety awareness SMS and Quality systems and reporting within the aviation industry.
* Flexibility in working hours and location as travel may be necessary for short and long-term assignments.


Additionally, we would like you to have the following set of skills:

* Planning processes (long terms and network).
* Aircraft Maintenance concepts.
* Relevant EASA Part M, EASA Part 145 regulations.
* Experience within one or more of the aircraft types operated by SAS.
* Practical experience working with MMIS, preferably AMOS.

Other of Importance

As this position requires occasional work airside, to be eligible for this position you must be able to pass a security test including a background check and limited travel is to be expected as part of the job.
