Scania’s purpose is to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system, creating a world of mobility that is better for business, society and the environment. Over the coming years, we will develop a range of electrified vehicles for all applications, including long-haulage and construction.
In order to deliver on this commitment, we are now looking for a battery cell development engineer to complement our battery cell team on the mission to develop the best alternatives of Li-ion battery cells for Scania's trucks and buses. Our ambition is to tailor battery cells with well-balanced trade-offs between energy, power and life as well as to develop usage strategies with optimized customer value in focus.
Your responsibility in the team
You will be working as a development engineer within battery cell development. Together with your colleagues, you specify cell requirements in terms of safety, performance, life and quality based on vehicle and customer demands. You follow up the cell development at our cell suppliers as well as you plan, specify and follow up the internal test and validation. Battery simulation from cell to system level are also part of our development process.
You make sure that our colleagues at the other battery HW&SW teams have the right knowledge on the battery cell in order to deliver excellent module, pack and system design and control. In the vehicle projects we cooperate cross-functionally with production, sales & marketing and aftermarket.
You are part of a highly motivated and inspiring team of competent engineers. Together with your colleagues you have the possibility to influence the team's processes and deliveries. We work actively with improving our methods on a continuous basis and have a culture that welcomes new ideas and approaches.
Your profile
We are looking for a development engineer with experience from Li-ion battery development:
• MSc or PhD within chemistry, materials or other relevant science or engineering discipline
• Experience from Li-ion battery technology i.e. cell design, testing, production or similar, especially meriting is experience from battery safety and quality assurance
• Experience from research & development within automotive industry
• You are engaged, curious and have the ability and will to bring new ideas and achieve results
• You are flexible, enjoy a fast pace and being involved in diversified activities
• You like working with others and are a good communicator
• You are structured and work independently while at the same time having the team’s results in focus
• Good knowledge of English is a requirement, knowledge of Swedish is meriting
