In order to deliver on this commitment, we are now looking for a battery cell development engineer to strengthen our cell development team on the mission to provide premium battery cell solutions for Scania's trucks, buses and power solutions.
About the team
The group's scope is the development of battery cells in terms of battery cell specification and validation, analysis of battery and vehicle test data as well battery simulation from cell to system level. We work in all phases of research and development from applied research projects in collaboration with universities to product development and product follow-up.
In an agile environment based on SAFe, we work in cross-functional agile teams with colleagues from other disciplines within battery development such as battery system design, testing and control to deliver optimal cell integration and battery system performance. The cell development work also involves collaboration with other parts of the company such as purchasing, production, sales & marketing and aftermarket. In addition, we cooperate cross-brand within the Traton group.
In the cell development group, you are part of a highly motivated and solution-focused team of competent engineers. We work actively with improving our methods on a continuous basis and have a culture that welcomes new ideas and approaches.
Your tasks
Together with your colleagues, you specify technical cell requirements in terms of safety, performance, life and quality based on vehicle and customer demands and sync them cross-functionally. You cooperate closely with our cell suppliers and follow up the cell developments and production at the suppliers. You also specify and follow up the internal test and validation. You analyse and evaluate the cells based on the requirements of the applications, recommend usage and integration in the battery system and release the cells for the respective battery systems and applications.
Your profile
To succeed in a development engineer role in the battery cell development team we expect that you have
• MSc or PhD within chemistry, materials or other relevant science or engineering discipline,
• knowledge of Li-ion battery technology i.e. cell design, safety, testing, quality assurance, production or similar,
• experience from research and/or product development within battery or automotive industry,
• good knowledge of English (knowledge of Swedish is meriting).
