Battery Cell Development Engineers

Battery Cell Development Engineers

Arbetsbeskrivning

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

Do you want to join and drive the shift to a sustainable transport system?

Scania’s purpose is to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system, creating a world of mobility that is better for business, society and the environment. Following the 2020 launch of Scania’s first fully electric truck, over the coming years, we will develop a range of electrified vehicles for all applications including long-haulage.

We are looking for several development engineers to expand our battery cell development team on the mission to develop the best battery cells for Scania's applications.

Our ambition is to tailor battery cells for our applications with well-balanced trade-offs between energy, power and life and develop usage strategies with optimized customer value in focus. To achieve this, we specify cell requirements based on vehicle and customer demands. We follow up the cell development at our cell suppliers as well as we plan, specify and follow up the internal test and validation. Battery simulation from cell to system level is also part of our development process as well as data analytics in order to turn battery data from cell to vehicle tests and operating data into value for our customers. We make sure that our colleagues at the other battery HW and SW teams have the right knowledge on the battery cell in order to deliver excellent system design and control. In the vehicle projects we cooperate cross-functionally with production, sales & marketing and aftermarket.

Together with your colleagues you have the possibility to influence the team's processes and deliveries. We work actively with improving our methods on a continuous basis and have a culture that welcomes new ideas and approaches.

Your profile

To succeed in a development engineer role in the battery cell development team we expect that you have:

• a MSc or PhD within chemistry, materials or other relevant science or engineering discipline,
• experience from Li-ion battery technology i.e. cell design, testing, production or similar or other relevant background,
• experience from research & development within automotive industry,
