Electric Propulsion at Volvo Cars are the core competence center in Northern Europe regarding Li-ion technology and automotive battery systems. We can offer you to be in the forefront of the tech development and at the same time enjoy work life balance among other benefits. In the ART Battery Cell & Module we are responsible for developing the heart of our high voltage battery systems and you will play an important role for us to reach our aim of fully electric.
Are you an engineer with interest to learn more about cell & module development? Then the role as an Integration Engineer within our Cell & Module Team is the place for you to prosper. We are responsible for the integration and deployment of high-quality modules and cells into all our Volvo platforms.
Your Contribution
You will be responsible for battery cell & modules introduction in our vehicles and be the front figure towards the suppliers. You will ensure the most optimal cell and a design fulfilling performance, life requirements, safety, quality, and cost delivered according to the project timing. You will coordinate and lead the work where our attribute teams contribute with their specific in-depth knowledge, as well as close cooperation with other teams within our organization such as SW, CAE, testing, module, quality or system team. You drive and lead the x-functional teams needed in order to get successful deliverables in our programs to meet time, cost and functionality of the parts you are responsible for.
Let’s Dig into the Tech!
We are divided into five focus areas, safety, durability, performance, design and integration. Each of these competence areas is responsible for cell and module delivery into our vehicles. The battery packs are designed and assembled in-house which requires a close relationship between the different design teams to ensure the vehicle requirements are fulfilled. We also have close contact with our cell suppliers and work in close cooperation with calibration, CAE and testing.
You will get the chance to be involved from the concept phase to the vehicle release. You will also be a part of aftermarket activities such as customer study on vehicles that have been several years on the field and quality improvement activities.
For the future we collaborate closely with universities, our research teams in California and Shanghai, as well as with NOVO Energy - our joint venture with Northvolt.
Competence is Important
We see that you have experience and a good track record of deliverables from project lead work. You have at least a master’s degree or equivalent work experience preferably in chemistry, material science or equivalent. Experience from or knowledge about Li-ion battery technology, cell design and/or testing is highly meritorious.
Personality is Key
You share our passion for electrification! You have a high integrity and excellent communication skills. You are a reliable team player, comfortable taking the lead when needed, and enjoy sharing knowledge and experience with your colleagues.
You need to possess strong analytical skills and a problem-solving approach throughout the working process. A positive mind-set and inner motivation will be keys to excel but taking initiatives and having a self-drive will give you additional power to succeed!
