The Electromobility Department is responsible for developing electromobility solutions and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. This organization develop and drives the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within the Volvo Group. Electromobility is a growing organization in place to shape the future!
The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.


We now recruiting a Battery Cell Technology Engineer

Responsibilities / Main tasks


As an Engineer with in the Battery Cell technology Team you will be responsible for battery cell development along side your team members. Your team of specialists and you are responsible to build world class knowledge of battery cell technology, characterization, modelling and simulation. You support cell selection and development in current series projects and product improvements. You will work closely with our storage system groups by helping to select cells and balancing requirements. You are a part of a cross-functional network internally and work closely with our key suppliers. You have a good view of our competitors and future technology development in cell design and manufacturing. You enjoy being in the forefront of technology and create a large network with the best players In cell development and research globally. You are open and positive and like to lead technology and people. With us, you need to be a team player as part of a high performing team. You like to develop new ways to work.


Qualifications
Education
MSc degree in Physics, chemistry, Electro-chemistry or Material Science. PhD is a merit.
Professional Experiences
At least 3 years of experience of battery cell development within OEM or supplier product development.
At least 2 years of experience within automotive industry
Experience from development of components with complex system integration
Experience from OEM or Battery Cell Supplier development processes
Experience in requirement setting and supplier management
Experience working within cross-functional teams
Experience from research projects with universities and research instates
Experience in technology strategy
Experience from IP management
