About us
As part of our mission to enable the freedom to move in a personal, sustainable and safe way we are now launching our first Battery Electric Vehicle, the XC40 P8 Recharge. It is powered by an in-house designed battery developed by our great battery team in Gothenburg. To follow this, we are now working on a new electric vehicle platform and several exiting products that all will be powered by Batteries designed and developed in-house. With these new products Volvo Cars aims to be leading in electrification and, in 2025, every 2nd Volvo sold shall be a battery electric vehicle. To deliver on this aim we will deepen our involvement in all aspects of battery development.
What´s in it for you
To increase our ability to deliver battery systems we need you as a Battery Integration Engineer within the System Integration team. You will work with many of our skilled engineers to design the future batteries. As a Battery Integration Engineer you will
* Ensure that the battery cells are integrated in an efficient way into the battery system, balancing cost, manufacturability and performance.
* Design battery systems and sub-systems on a conceptual level
* Work to enable a good battery to vehicle integration
* Dive deep into how the system design can be industrialized working with manufacturing engineering and suppliers
* Come up with novel design ideas and assembly methods that makes our batteries more cost effective and energy dense

You and your skills
You are a team player with strong communications skills with a genuine interest in technology. You can work independently and take required actions on own initiative. You are a fast learner with an analytical and solution-based mindset.
* M.Sc or similar in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Physics, etc.)
* 5 years’ experience in Li-ion Battery/Module/Cell design
* More than 3 years exp within OEM / Cell and Battery suppliers
* Skilled in using Catia V5 or similar
Apart from the requirements listed above a personal interest in technology and electrical vehicle is highly valued.
