Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior Battery Management System Engineer to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
Join the BMS team to develop and implement Battery Management System (BMS) hardware functionality.
Utilize your electronic engineering expertise to ensure fulfillment of BMS system requirements, ISO 26262 compliance, and EMC/EMI standards.
Provide support to the Traction battery section in electronics and electrical domains.
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure clear understanding and accurate implementation of requirements and perform necessary verifications.
Take ownership of electronics attribute requirements (EMC and Electrical Performance) and low-level functional requirements for BMS.
Manage compliance with Volvo Cars Standards and Hardware Statements of Work (HW SOW) in collaboration with suppliers.
Monitor prototype vehicle builds and prototype manufacturing, ensuring adherence to specifications.
Lead electronic design reviews and contribute to component selection, such as MCUs and ASICs.
Lead and deliver ISO 26262 Part 5 work products, overseeing system safety implementation on hardware.
Manage FTTI (Fault Tree and Threshold Identification) and FMEDA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis) processes and reviews.
Support the RFI (Request for Information) / RFQ (Request for Quotation) phase with suppliers.
Drive reliability engineering efforts to enhance system robustness and durability.
Develop diagnostic requirements for hardware drivers and collaborate with system architects and software teams to ensure proper software implementation and validation.
Manage requirements using tools like Elektra, System Weaver, and eIDB.
Collaborate closely with Base Tec SW engineers to ensure alignment between hardware specifications and requirements.
What you bring:
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (MSc EE) or similar qualification.
Knowledge and experience in ISO 26262, particularly part 5.
Proven experience in the aforementioned activities related to BMS development and hardware functionality.
