Our Engineering department is creating a strong foundation of skills and we are therefore looking for a Battery Research Engineer.

Description

You will be part of the ABT organization within NEVS and responding to the ABT SW-FW Architecture Manager, with strong responsibility in Designing and delivering manufacturing effective and robust integration solutions on gate time for current and upcoming projects.

The role as Battery Research Engineer involves;

- developing new performance, aging, and abuse models for Li-ion and next generation batteries
- performing numerical simulations to identify performance limitations, optimize cell designs
- developing multiscale models together with materials and systems modelers
- collaborate with experimentalists to validate state-of-the-art electrochemical models
- collaborate with top universities and our partners
- development and investigation of high-energy lithium battery cells and materials
- electrochemical and physical characterization of cells and materials
- physical modelling of electrochemical processes and numerical implementation by means of Multiphysics-Li-ion-Battery-Modeling-and-Simulation
- developing user-friendly, custom-built simulation software for the three-dimensional simulation of batteries
- professional consulting with simulation problems to other in-house departments
- execution of simulation studies
- development of rapid screening methods for evaluating new materials, design and supervision of cell tests, post-mortem analysis for parameter extractions.

We are looking for someone who has;

- Master or PhD in (electro)chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, or a related field
- publication records and coursework that demonstrate a strong foundation in thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, transport phenomena, as well as previous laboratory experience.
- knowledge of electrochemistry, especially batteries or fuel cells is required.
- Lithium-Ion Battery knowledge
- Matlab/Simulink, COMSOL/ANSYS and Post-Mortem experience
- physical modelling of electrochemical processes Autonomy,
- Fluent English language skills,

 

Following is preferred but not required.

- Standard, ISO 26262
- Several big project experience
- Driving License B

Terms

National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB is a member of the Engineering Industries and covered by current collective bargaining agreement signed by Unionen / Sveriges Ingenjörer / Ledarna.
