We are now looking for a Battery Researcher to join our team and work with our partners at Uppsala University on the project “Demonstration of High-performance and Long-life Rechargeable Zinc-ion Batteries” funded by the Swedish Energy Agency. The project aims to develop and innovate in rechargeable zinc-ion batteries that enable cost-efficient, sustainable, and effective solutions for energy storage systems.
As a Battery Researcher, you will work closely with our Product Development team in Stockholm and gain support in battery development, testing and manufacturing. You exhibit a can-do attitude, and you approach problems with vigor and determination. You are expected to demonstrate versatility and possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
This is a 24-month position located in Uppsala, with the possibility of joining full-time in Stockholm at the end of the contract. You will focus on developing functional zinc electrodes by evaluating and optimizing zinc plating and stripping processes in varying conditions. This position requires laboratory work experience, and it is essential that the candidate is well experienced in battery cell fabrication and electrochemical characterization.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Conceptualize and implement novel concepts for battery technologies
● Develop new and improved methods to support existing and future products
● Apply your expertise in rechargeable batteries and engineering techniques to development efforts
To be successful in this role, you will need:
● Ph.D. in Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline
● Experience in rechargeable batteries, battery R&D and testing
● Depth of knowledge in electrochemistry
● Excellent oral and written English language skills are required
