Who we are looking for
We are looking for two beamline technicians to work as part of MAX IVs spectroscopy beamline teams with the focus on the operations support and development of the beamline user infrastructure.
Each technician will be placed within the beamline team(s) and shared between two beamlines. The beamlines are in operation and provide a wide range of experimental techniques for users. The main task for the technician will be to maintain, support in development and prepare the beamline instrumentation for user experiments. This is critical for the facility to be able to provide user support of the highest standards. To achieve this the technician will spend substantial amount of their time in a close contact with the beamline teams and users participating in the commissioning activities as well as experiments.

To be successful in this role you need to have the following qualifications
• Bachelors or Masters degree within STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) subject
• Experience with UHV equipment
• Hands on experience with complex scientific instrumentation
• Proven experience in collaborative development

• PhD within STEM subject
• Experience from the research environment (e.g. universities, research laboratories, research facilities) in STEM subject
• Experience of working at synchrotron light sources or other large experimental facilities
• Experience of working in an international environment

MAX IV is a Swedish national large-scale research laboratory hosted by Lund University. It provides scientists from Sweden as well as internationally, with state-of-the-art instrumentation for research in areas such as engineering, physics, structural biology, chemistry and nanotechnology. Fully developed it will receive more than 2 000 scientists annually, conducting ground-breaking experiments in materials and life sciences using the brilliant X-ray light.
