Benchmarking the Property Lease Market

Background
Reorganizations, relocations, strategic changes, or opportunities: there are many different factors to why Volvo Group decides to invest, divest, or lease real estate properties. Today Volvo Group lease real estate properties around the world for approximately 1,6 Billion SEK.


Problem
Volvo Group collaborates with different brokers which are available worldwide when looking for new properties to lease or land to buy. The problem today is that there is no existing strategy for how to work with the broker or how much we should involve them.


Solution
Benchmarking with other large companies on how they are working with property leasing. What is their strategy?


Goal of the thesis
The goal is to be able to show pros and cons from the benchmarking and draw a conclusion. Some suggestions on strategies for property leasing in relation to the use of brokers.
