BI Specialist

About the role 

We are looking for a new BI Specialist with experience in Power BI or Qlik Sense to join our BI services team in Finland or Sweden. Our team is part of a larger Data & Software Development team and we help our internal customers to transform data into insights and thus being part of the clean energy transition which is now more important than ever! 

Our team is located in the Business Technology division which drives digitalization at Fortum, enabling smart solutions for customers, improved asset and trading productivity, and new data-driven business models. The organization brings together technical and digital competencies and solutions to help optimize Fortum’s entire value chain, create excellent customer experiences and drive new sources of revenue. 

Some responsibilities 


• Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain data visualizations, dashboards and reports defined in the product backlogs  
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications, while optimizing solution development to meet strategic and tactical business requirements 
• Ensure consistency between data management principles and enterprise architecture  
• Document contents of the BI solutions and meta-data storage  
• Drive proactively continuous improvements of existing BI solutions together with business stakeholders and the IT community 
• You'll get to utilize our modern BI stack including Snowflake, AWS, Databricks, Azure, Power BI, Qlik Sense 
• You would report to the Manager, BI services

What we are looking for? 


• Proven ability to get things done in a complex environment 
• Hands-on experience in data modeling and building visualizations using either Power BI or Qlik Sense  
• Well-organized and structured working style, strong analytical skill set, attention to detail and passion for problem-solving 
• Understanding the end-to-end processes, technologies and methods from the source systems to the dashboards 
• Strong communication and presentation skills in English (written and vocal) 
• Highly motivated and proactive mentality toward responsibilities 
• Experience with DevOps and Agile methodologies 
• Minimum bachelor's degree in IT, finance, engineering or in similar area 

Not required, but considered as your benefit


• Knowledge especially in other BI tech is an advantage 
• Hands-on experience with other data & analytics-related technologies, such as databases, ETL processes, SQL, APIs, Snowflake 
• Experience on any cloud platforms and especially Azure & Snowflake
