Your mission?

As a Bid Manager you will be responsible for prepare a winning proposal according to customer requirements and Alstoms bid strategy, also for preparing, leading and managing the Traction system Tender from RFP issuance and analysis to the handover to project execution. As Bid Manager, you will work in Tenders and Costing department, report hierarchically to the Site Bid Director.


Your key responsibilites?

Co-ordinate all internal activities to identify and understand customer's needs
Lead the tender team in successful completion of their assigned tasks within schedule, allocated budgets, and scope in required quality. Ensure on-time delivery and optimized quality of all deliverables.
Structure and organize the bid team. You are responsible for adequate communication with the other sub-teams and commercial / internal partners. If needed, escalate issues to management.
Manage and monitor tender budgets according to Tender Costs Authorization Process, mitigate or escalate when signals of overspending occur.
Define the bid operational strategy on sub-system level and ensure it is in line with Alstom strategy and customer requirements.
Ensure the right product selection, technical requirement as well as all commercial, financial, and legal aspects are considered.
Run kick off meeting to ensure the bid strategy is well aligned within the task-oriented bid team (engineering, industrialization, operations, procurement, customer service).
Define and manage bid schedule, report progress, and escalate issues to ensure on time delivery of a tender.
Manage Quality Costs Delivery Performance (QCDP) optimization, oversee production of benchmarks and financial cost input (in liaise with Bid Costing Manager if any) and obtain clear commitments from different stakeholders.
Prepare risks & opportunities reviews
Submit offer documents for approval. Present bid at review meetings to obtain mandate and supervise the bid governance rules are respected.
Ensure the bid documentation is accurately documented and stored, (internal offer document, financial cost submission, RFP, Q&A, Presentations, letters, contract …) and secure traceability until contract signature
Verify feasibility of evolutions requested versus the offered and approved reference
Ensure that all Customer questions have been answered, in line with commercial strategy
Contribute to Return of Experience (REX) through the Win-Loss Analysis in liaison with Tender Leader and Market Pricing & Strategy
Responsible for transferring all tender material and knowledge to the project execution team, securing successful start of the project. Provide adequate support during the execution phase, in particular before the first project review (CPR0)



Minimum qualifications:

Masters Degree or Bachelor Degree
5+ years of related industry experience ideally with cross-border team management e.g. in Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Procurement or other experience in an international environment, working in multi-disciplined teams.
High capability to manage efficient team working to produce the tender deliverables within a limited time, period and under stressful condition



Ideally:
Fluent English mandatory, Swedish strongly preferred, other languages are an advantage for this role
Sufficient knowledge of financial rules to build consolidated costs
Knowledge of railway industry
