We are looking for an ambitious Bid Manager in Stockholm/Västerås!
• As a Bid manager you will prepare a winning proposal according to customer requirements and Alstom Services Bid Strategy.
• Alstom Services is in an expanse phase and we now need to strengthen our bid and tendering department. We are very optimistic about the future with many upcoming interesting business opportunities in Services Nordic over the next 5-10 years.
• You will work in an international environment with many stakeholders involved. Based on the customer's specifications and requirements, together with your bid team, you will be responsible for developing customized maintenance solutions for railway vehicles. It can be both fleet maintenance of entire vehicle fleets (RSM - Rolling Stock Maintenance) or rebuildings and modernizations of different vehicle types (ALM - Asset Life Maintenance).
• Our maintenance operations are carried out in various depots in the Nordic region, but our tenders are mainly developed centrally with the support of our line functions, either in Stockholm or Västerås (preferable).
• We are looking for a candidate with very good leadership skills as well as experience in the railway, vehicle or aerospace industry. You have to structure and plan your work and together with your tender team, deliver varied tenders on sound commercial terms against the established budget and set time frames.
Main tasks and responsibilities
• Mobilize tender team to find optimal way to win a tender while ensuring ability to execute optimizing competitiveness
• Structure and organize the bid team. You are responsible for adequate communication with the other sub-teams and commercial / internal partners.
• Run kick-off meeting to ensure the bid strategy is well-aligned within the task-oriented bid team (Project Management, Engineering, Industrialization, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Environment Health and Safety).
• Co-ordinate all internal activities to identify and understand customer's needs and requirements, in-detail reviews of customer documentation, both commercial and technical.
• Lead the tender team in successful completion of their assigned tasks within schedule, allocated budgets, and scope according with Alstom Quality Standards.
• Prepare risks & opportunities reviews
• Manage Quality Costs Delivery Performance (QCDP) optimization, oversee production of benchmarks and financial cost input
• Liaise with Bid Costing Manager and obtain clear commitments from different stakeholders.
• Ensure on-time delivery and optimized quality of all deliverables.
Skills and Education
• Masters Degree or Bachelor Degree
• 5+ years of related industry experience ideally with cross-border team management e.g. in Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Procurement
• Sufficient knowledge of financial rules to build consolidated costs
• High capability to manage efficiently the team within a limited time, period and under stressful conditions
• Excellent communications and presentation skills
• Negotiation skills, customer oriented
• Problem-solving skills
• Flexibility and adaptability
• Sense of anticipation
• Fluent English mandatory, Swedish strongly preferred, other languages are an advantage
