Jefferson Wells is helping RWE Renewables with the recruitment of a Bid Support Officer for Scan & Baltics.

About the role
This role presents an opportunity to make a powerful and important contribution on a ground-breaking project(s) regarding their participation in an exciting energy market auctions by facilitating a compliant and competitive bid submission. The post holder will need to develop and maintain a proficient understanding of the auction rules and establish good relationships with the Project and wider parts of the business to support bid preparation and the coordination of information.


Reporting to the projects' Bid Manager, the Bid Support Officer will support the approvals of a competitive, compliant and deliverable bid application. The Bid Management team is your home team comprising of all global Bid Managers, Casebook Managers and Bid Support Officers. You will be assigned into project teams in regions globally within the matrix organisation. The Bid Support Officer will have no budget holding responsibility in relation to either opex or capex spend.


You will establish appropriate governance, controls, and assurance to ensure that the Bid Application is delivered in a controlled and compliant manner. Validation and proof-reading of technical and commercial documentation is a key requirement of the role to provide quality assurance and eliminate errors and gaps which could result in unsuccessful application. It requires a good understanding of records management with some previous experience of handling and managing confidential documentation and ideally advanced ICT literacy skills regarding the editing and publication of documents.
Further the Bid Support Officer will also be expected to contribute to identifying good practice and the ongoing refinement of processes and procedures, challenging the norm to ensure that the Bid Management team is continually improving the service it provides.


In addition to the above, you will also work with:

* Establish and coordinate a robust quality records management and assurance process regarding the Bid Application documentation.
* Develop sufficient knowledge and expertise in the auction rules and the company's functions in order to perform role.
* General administration of documentation for example editing, redacting, publishing, proof reading and archiving records and data entries.
* Handling of confidential information including encrypting documentation
* Support the Bid Manager to manage stakeholders to ensure timely receipt of documentation and resolution of queries and issues.
* Act as a Technical Secretary for the project's Bid workstream
* Support the department's development of templates and processes, co-ordinating comments and updates from across the team


About you who are applying
We are looking for you who have a degree in a relevant field, preferably in economics, environment or technology. You have a strong interest in the green transition and renewable energy. Experience from the sector would be an advantage.


We are happy to see that you have some experience of:

* Knowledge and experience of managing data records and archives and handling confidential information.
* Knowledge and experience of professionally editing documents, including methodologies and associated software.
* Advanced PC literacy including Microsoft Office applications and ideally in professional editing software such as Adobe Acrobat Professional or similar.
* Has an interest and some experience in preparing professional and visual presentations for senior managers on Microsoft Powerpoint or similar. A flair for graphic design or similar would be an advantage.
* Ability to quickly develop knowledge in new areas ideally in specialist technical or commercial fields. Previous knowledge of energy market auctions is not essential but would be an advantage.
* Good stakeholder management and interpersonal skills. Presentation skills are advantageous.
* Ideally has experience of supporting the identification and implementation of new processes, and ways of working.
* Ideally has a passion and interest in records management, quality assurance and project administration.
* A proactive attitude: a colleague ensuring your hands are full - If you have no information in front of you, you make sure to create it.


English language proficiency is mandatory, another Scandinavian language is desirable.
To begin with, this is a contract of 12 months, but for the right person, it can be extended.
