Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Uppsala Bioinformatician Bioinformatics support for high-throughput analysis of data from large-scale DNA sequencers SLU develops the understanding and sustainable use of biological natural resources.This is achieved through research, teaching, environmental monitoring and assessment and information extension.About 5000 bachelor, master and doctorate students are enrolled at SLU.3000 people are employed at the University.The turnover is about 2,2 billion SEK.Main campuses are located at Ultuna, Alnarp, Skara, and Umeå. BILS (Bioinformatics Infrastructure for Life Sciences, (http://bioinfo6.limbo.ifm.liu.se/bils/) and Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics, SLU, hereby announces a 1-year project employment for Bioinformatics support for high-throughput analysis of data from large-scale DNA sequencers at UPPNEX.The applicant should work with the development of tools and systems to facilitate and perform the analysis of ultra-high throughput sequencing data generated in the various research projects at UPPNEX.The work will include building customized data analysis pipelines and visualization tools.The work will be performed in close collaboration with research groups at the DNA sequencing facilities.The applicant should preferably have a B.Sc.or PhD.in bioinformatics, computer sciences or a related relevant subject.Moreover, he applicant should be able to effectively interact with a group of developers, system experts and research groups in a team-oriented manner.Application for this position should be sent electronically as one PDF file including the items a-c listed below.The application should contain: a) Cover letter b) CV c) Other relevant documents SLU is an equal opportunity employer.
