Role Summary/Purpose:
The Technical Specialist actively supports sales for the Enterprise Solutions portfolio as a the process/engineering technical expert. This role works as part of the central Evaluation & Offering team responsible for providing competence and leadership in the process and facility design for biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
Essential Responsibilities:
In this role you will hold technical discussions with the customer, as well as qualification, configuration and quoting phases of the opportunity management process. You will provide the necessary process/facility engineering input to support/enable the design and development of biopharmaceutical manufacturing suite layouts, process equipment layout and overall process engineering oversight required to ensure fit and function for the manufacturing technology application in alignment with regulatory requirements.
Duties include:
Engineering lead in proposals preparations, new product development, validation studies and customer focused techinical deep dives
Lead proposal generation, responsible for the technical process/engineering deliveries in an Enterprise Solution proposal: from scoping to budgeting, in collaboration with Sales and Business leads
Support customer meetings by providing process understanding, large scale manufacturing production expertise and facility design experience
Lead biomanufacturing process design , scale-up and modeling activities in Enterprise Solutions
Lead handover to the execution team after contract closure
Support manufacturing financial assessments like cost/revenue models
Accountable to assess customer needs and provide appropriate comprehensive proposals and capability statements
Accountable to achieve the proposals targets and supports product orders OP target for assigned accounts and or territory
Approximately 10-20% travel depending on project specifics and geographic location.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Our focus is on plasma, vaccine, monoclonal antibodies and insulin. Our field is the global market, but emerging economies predominate and we work with governments as well as private companies.
University education in chemical/biochemical engineering with 8 ? 10 years experience working in a biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment
Experience in design and/or operation of biopharma facilities
Experience in process modeling and facility layout design
Experience in working/leading within cross functional teams
Fluent in English both verbally and in writing
Comfortable in giving conference presentations and writing technical articles in peer reviewed journals
Demonstrated experience in working with customers and developing relationships
Be curious, have a strong drive to understand the business, drive change, continuously improve
Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global processes

Desired Characteristics:
Experience from AutoCAD, Visio, MS Project SuperPro applications is beneficial.
