BioProcess Engineer at Growing BioTech Company in Sweden
Are you a passionate and experienced Process Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity in the dynamic field of biotechnology? We invite you to join our team at BioLamina, a leading upscaling biotech company in Sweden where we produce human recombinant laminins that are sold as a culturing platform for different types of primary cells. The demand for our products is increasing around the world and we therefore need to expand our production team. As a Process Engineer, you will play a vital role in our production team, contributing to the manufacturing of high-quality recombinant proteins while actively participating in process optimization and validation.
About the Position:
The Process Engineer is a crucial member of BioLaminas Production team, responsible for the manufacturing of high-quality recombinant proteins according to defined processes. This role involves adhering to written procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant laws and regulations. The Process Engineer will work both independently and collaboratively within the team, participating in various production tasks and actively contributing to continuous process improvement and validation efforts. The position is a permanent, full-time role with an initial 6-month probationary period.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, or Biochemistry is required.
- 3-5 years of proven experience as a Process Engineer in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry
- Strong experience in either upstream and/or downstream processing or equivalent qualification
- Proficiency in identifying, performing, and coordinating deviations, Corrective and Preventive Actions (CC, CAPA) activities
- Skillful in updating, writing, and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Batch Production Records (BPRs)
- Experience in participating, planning, performing, and reporting validation and qualification studies
- Experience in biotechnological production of recombinant proteins, aseptic working techniques, and cleanroom practices is advantageous
- Additional experience in cell culturing and bioreactor operation is beneficial
- Demonstrated expertise in identifying, planning, performing, and reporting process optimization activities
- Proficiency in office computing tools, including Word and Excel
- Strong English communication skills, both spoken and written, Swedish knowledge is a merit
- Skills in cleanroom work techniques is advantageous

Location:
Our office is centrally located in Sundbyberg, Stockholm, with good connections to public transportation (subway, light railway, and commuter trains). The office building also offer indoor car parking options.
