Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Örebro University Hospital is seeking someone who is able to prepare and analyse data in the context of health research.
The post will initially involve working 50% on a project concerned with quality of life and health economics aspects of some cancer types. The other 50% of the post will involve working with clinicians and researchers to collaboratively facilitate research in a variety of areas in medicine and health.
Main responsibilities
Responsibilities will include participating in the development of machine learning/artificial intelligence (ML/AI) algorithms and predictive models; then evaluating these instruments for implementation and in a real-world setting. Other work will include preparing research data, advising on and conducting biostatistical analysis, assisting with interpretation of results and participating in the preparation of scientific papers, as well as involvement in other actives of the research groups.
Qualifications and experience
Candidates should have graduated in a discipline with training in quantitative methods. Key aspects of the job include handling data in a variety of formats and statistical analysis such as survival and predictive models. Knowledge of research in the areas of health and disease is desirable.
Experience of statistical software, such as SPSS, Stata or SAS is essential, as is knowledge of machine learning algorithms. Postgraduate qualifications and research or research support experience are desirable, but more recently qualified applicants may be considered if they can demonstrate competence. Form of employment
The position is full-time and permanent. Salary level will be based on qualifications and experience.
The person appointed will be placed in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics which is part of the Clinical Research Centre at Örebro University Hospital. Medical research has a high priority in Region Örebro County. Our research is being developed in close partnership with Örebro University to improve health and healthcare.
