Internationella Engelska Skolan Östersund (F-9) is opening in August 2020. We are now seeking a driven and goal-orientated Assistant Principal to join our leadership team full time in August 2020.

The Assistant Principal will lead the school forward in pastoral affairs. You will design and implement behaviour and welfare systems in the school, enabling teachers to teach and students to learn. As part of the school leadership team you will work closely with the Principal and Academic Manager and have responsibility for the Student Care Team. 

The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking leader and positive role model, with the ability to inspire both students and staff. They will be autonomous and follow through with school policies and their own ideas. They will be a strong presence around the school and always will be visible.

Required Competencies

Knowledge

- Understanding of the IES vision, ethos and values
- Knowledge of how to create a safe and calm environment 
- Understanding of “Skollagen” in relation to student care

- Strong student behaviour management skills
- Leadership and management skills
- Coaching skills
- Swedish and English language fluency

Desired Qualifications/Experience

- Qualified education professional from either abroad or Sweden.
- Experience of working to resolve complex student issues in a leadership role
