About us
The Electric Propulsion & Energy department at Volvo Cars is Implementing cutting edge technology in our products and services, we develop complete HW and SW solutions for power electronics, traction batteries, thermal management, charging and electric driveline. We aim at leading in sustainable e-propulsion and we restlessly contribute to carbon neutrality, circular economy, and ethical business.
Within the department Battery Control & ECU Platform we are responsible for the basic SW, application SW and ECU HW to our BEVS and PHEVS batteries.
You will be part of a BMS team (Battery Management System) that develop and realize the BMS HW functionality.
With your electronic engineering skills, you will ensure that the BMS system requirements, ISO 26262 and EMC/EMI compliance is fulfilled. You will also support the Traction battery department in electronics and electrical area in general.
What You’ll Do
You ensure that suppliers understand and implements our requirements and perform verifications
and take ownership of electronics attribute requirements (EMC and Electrical Performance) and low-level functional requirements of BMS. You also manage compliance towards Volvo Cars Standards and HW SOW with suppliers and follow up prototype vehicle builds and manufacturing of prototypes
Within the role you also perform electronic design reviews and lead and deliver ISO 26262 Part 5 work products and take responsibility for system safety implementation on HW.- FTTI, FMEDA management and review
Furthermore you support and develop concept selection for key components like MCU, ASICs etc and support RFI / RFQ phase with suppliers.
Part of you responsibility is also to develop H/W driver diagnostic requirements and ensure S/W implementation and validation together with system architects and S/W teams.
and manage requirements in Elektra, system weaver, eIDB
You also work with Base Tech SW engineers to ensure HW specifications fulfill the requirements.
Competence is Important
* MSc EE or similar
* Knowledge/Experience in ISO 26262, especially part 5
* Experience of above-mentioned activities
Meritorious.
* Work experience from the automotive industry, preferably within Volvo Cars
* Experience with ISO26262
