AniCura Regional Animal Hospital Bagarmossen is one of Sweden’s largest and most modern animal hospitals for dogs and cats. Our 24/7 emergency, ICU and specialist hospital now wants to strengthen the surgery team further and is therefore looking for a board-certified or residency trained veterinary surgeon in small animal to join the surgery team.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate is a board-Certified European Diplomate within Surgery, you like challenges and enjoy working together with your colleagues to develop and improve surgical and orthopedic skills within the whole hospital. Together we shape the future of veterinary care and our aim is to create Europe’s premier surgery department.
You bring your knowledge, expertise and insights with you and by training, educating and collaborating with less experienced colleagues and other departments you play an integral part in developing our hospital further.
The role is split in both clinical work and training and educating colleagues and departments within orthopedics primarily. You will also be able to dedicate one day to research to ensure you continue your development.
What we are looking for:
- Board certified or residency trained surgeon
- Committed to the development of orthopedic surgery in veterinary care
- Experienced and enjoy training and educating colleagues in a pedagogical and communicative way

The surgery department and our equipment
Our diagnostic equipment includes a large and modern laboratory, modern veterinary facility with state-of-the art equipment for orthopedic and soft tissue surgery as well as minimal invasive surgery such as laparoscopy, thoracoscopy and arthroscopy.
The hospital is equipped with digital radiograph, 64 slice Siemens CT, 1,5T MRI, ultrasonography, fluoroscopy, Karl Storz arthroscopic and laparoscopic imaging systems, operating microscope and full instrumentation for orthopedic, neurosurgery and soft tissue surgery. We also have state-of-the art anesthesia equipment and experienced anesthesia nurses and a board-Certified European Diplomate in anesthesia and analgesia.
In the surgery department, about 15 surgeons, anesthesia nurses, animal caretakers and sterile technicians work daily with booked, in-patient and emergency patients.

The Regional Animal Hospital is a full-service small animal practice, offering the best in medical and surgical care. We primarily treat dogs and cats. We are situated about 10 minutes outside Stockholm City centre next to Nacka nature reserve with beautiful lakes and woodland just around the corner of the house. With our 180 employees, and around the clock services for both referrals and first opinion cases, we are the only 24-hour, 7 days a week, 365 days a year open - small animal hospital in the Stockholm County. The hospital receives approximately 30 000 patients visits a year and have around 100 surgeries every week.
