There is now an opportunity for you to join Volvo Buses design team Chassis Structure & Body Building Support and to be a part in shaping our future products.
Who are your new colleagues?
Chassis Structure & Body Building Support (BBS) is a design team within Chassis & Driveline Development at Volvo Buses. We are the main contact in projects within External Body Builders, we publish Body building instructions, perform audits, send 3D data for external use and supports other functions for mentioning some. We are also responsible for the complete chassis frame.
We are a diverse team of 15 people who supports each other, share our knowledge and have fun at work.
What will you do?
The Body Building Support Engineer is the External Body Building representative in Volvo Bus (VBC) projects and coordinates Body Building Support (BBS) team activities and deliveries.
The Body Building Support Engineer is the main contact and representative between VBC and External Body Builders in projects and/or the market responsible main contact in the projects.
The body Building Support Engineer also works with general Body Builder and market support (questions, training etc.) as well as with support to other functions within VBC related to market.
Who are you?
You are a team player with excellent communication skills. Since you have substantial design engineering knowledge, you will have the ability and interest to technically drive External Body Builders requirements. We expect you to have a strong supporting side, problem solving skills and a passion for technology. You are a positive person who display a driving force and a structured way of working.
Personal qualifications and skills:
B.Sc. /M. Sc. Or equivalent experience
Experience from automotive design engineering, preferably VBC product knowledge
High communication skills are essential and an ability to work both independently and in a team
Experience of Volvo group product development process and tools is a merit
Good leading and communication skills, and have a structured way of working
Ability to take own responsibility and independently lead tasks within the area
Good knowledge in using required IT-systems/tools as CATIA, DMU, KOLA and Sharepoint
Good documentation skills
