Senior Risk Management Consultant (ATEX compliance) - Sweden
Gexcon is a world-leading company in the field of safety and risk management and advanced dispersion, explosion, and fire modelling.

Gexcon provides risk and safety studies using the industry-leading 3D consequence modelling software, FLACS-CFD, as well as other 2D tools, such as EFFECTS, RISKCURVES, Shell FRED and Shell Shepherd. We also offer accident investigation, fire and explosion testing, R&D and experimental testing, and software sales and support.
Recently Longship Fund II (“Longship”) has as of February 19th, 2021 acquired 100% of the shares in Gexcon AS from NORCE Norwegian Research Centre AS (“NORCE”).
With this acquisition, Gexcon aims to create a scalable platform for sustainable growth and a planned accelerated growth journey.
As we are continuously growing, we are looking for a senior risk management consultant who will be focusing on ATEX compliance to support our consulting team in the Nordic regions, based out of our office in Borås, Sweden.

Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior Risk Management Consultant, you will report directly to the General Manager of Gexcon in our office in Sweden.
You will be part of a regional office and be supported by a very experienced coordinated European consultancy team that will continuously support you to develop your skills.
You will have the following main tasks:
Contributing to and managing projects within relevant areas
Conducting risk assessments and identifying the required preventive and protective measures
Conducting hazardous area classification studies for gas, vapour and dust
Providing guidance and issuing pragmatic recommendations to eliminate and mitigate the risk of explosions and fires
Modelling the frequency and development of accidents
Modelling the consequence of accidents (using Gexcon’s available tools)
HAZID/ HAZOP workshops
Answering technical safety issues
Help develop and maintain Gexcon’s commercial relationships with clients
Help develop and maintain Gexcon’s software package, through creative use in projects
Responsible for generating leads, opportunities, and projects for the consulting department
Qualifications
Masters (or Bachelors with significant experience), preferably in Process Safety and Loss Prevention, Risk Management, Fire & Explosion Protection Engineering, mathematics, Chemical Engineering or other natural sciences
Preferably 5-10 years of experience in technical consultancy with knowledge of a broad range of safety and risk subject areas, including ATEX compliance
Preferably 3 years of experience, displaying enthusiasm for areas of expertise and providing motivation, guidance, and support to colleagues and the wider technical community
Seveso experience is a plus but not necessary
Preferably experience with commercial project management
Personal Qualities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Fluent in English and in Swedish (writing and speaking)
Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and a self-starter
Ability to work under critical time deadlines and prioritize while exercising discretion, diplomacy, and good judgment
Ability to take ownership of projects and multi-task
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships
Ability to interact with consultants and staff at all levels as well as with clients and business contacts
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplined team and willing to be cross-trained
