Our team currently consists of 10 engineers with different professional backgrounds, interests and history but with one common mindset: To develop our products and ourselves!


In our group, we focus on development of brakes, pneumatics, steering, suspension and engine suspension. Having a global responsibility, the solutions developed within the team can be found in Volvo buses all over the world helping millions of people every day to reach their destination. Imagine that as a legacy!


In our global responsibility, we cooperate with our sites in Poland, Mexico, and Brazil, as well as with our Volvo-owned brands Prevost and Nova in North America. Together, we secure knowledge transfer and competence development in an effort to become an even higher performing team consisting of highly passionate people.


What can we propose?
As Brake Engineer you will be a part of the Vehicle Dynamics and Pneumatics Group within the Chassis and Driveline department. You will work in close cooperation with skilled engineers in the group as well as cross-functionally with other functions.


You will be part of world-class design and development of the brake system at Volvo Buses and take on a significant role in the future development of our new bus models and optimization of current buses.


The role includes varying tasks within the design area from system requirement to detailed design as well as strategic work to secure long term development. You will work in various engineering projects and be involved in all phases of the product development process, from advanced engineering to aftermarket. Ensuring high standards, the role requires good networking ability and close contact with our stakeholders.


And this is you
You’re an experienced design engineer, working within the automotive industry or similar, with particular skills in product development. Since you will be working with the brake system, skills within the technical area will be especially valued. So will also knowledge of Volvo systems and processes.


As a part of our group, we see that you are at first most a team player with excellent communication and cooperation skills. Since you have good engineering judgment and priorities, you have the ability and interest to technically support and challenge colleagues in their work and their mindset. You like to share your passion for technical solutions, and you have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. As a person you are positive, you display driving force and have a structured way of working.
