Arbetsbeskrivning
Braking & Vehicle Dynamics Control Systems, residing in the “Vehicle Motion and Energy Management” technology stream, has a global responsibility for braking and vehicle dynamics control systems. The work is performed in close co-operation in a multi-cultural environment with both internal and external contacts such as our different development sites around the world and suppliers.
With the future of autonomous, electric and fuel cell vehicles in mind we want to strengthen our team in the area of braking and vehicle dynamics development.
In this role you will work with all lifecycle phases, for all brands, variants, relevant use cases, understanding customer needs and wanted system behavior, which means that you will be involved with maintenance as well as defining future functions, systems and roadmaps. Your main focus will be connected to developing and establishing future functions and system solutions. The system stretches from the physical truck and trailers, actuators and sensors to its control logic and its interfacing systems.
Important areas are concept development, simulation and modelling of complex systems, vehicle dynamics, wheel slip control etc.
Position description:
Depending on your profile, your work will include most or all of the following parts:
Develop, implement and document brake control functions such as service brake reference force generation, brake blending and trailer brake control
Act as responsible for one or more functions related to braking or vehicle stability
Act as the requirement owner for an End User Function
Develop, evaluate and review redundant vehicle dynamics brake control function concepts
Develop, implement and document diagnostic observers for the vehicle dynamics brake control systems
Develop, implement and document fault mode handlers for the vehicle dynamics brake control systems
Evaluate and test sensors related to vehicle motion control
Develop and implement sensor signal conditioning related to vehicle control
Rapid prototyping of SW and implementing in related tools (e.g. dSpace)
Test, tune and document each function parameters, for each variants
Carrying out tests in both virtual and real environments
Trouble shooting and on-site support to projects, production plants and aftersales
Participate in system layout definitions
Participate in system balancing discussions/decisions
Organize/participate in technical discussions with suppliers
Develop and coordinate control systems, functions and components in research or product development projects
Perform experimental tests in vehicles
Participate in verification and validation planning and follow up
Perform safety and quality work related to the system
Qualifications:
> 5 year experience within this domain
You have a M.Sc. in Mechatronics, Control engineering, Electronics or similar
Good knowledge in Physics, Mechatronics, Mechanical engineering, Control engineering, Vehicle dynamics, System modelling, Functional requirements and Electronics
Good understanding of system development of embedded real time systems

Knowledge about AUTOSAR architecture and development
Analytical
Interest in new technologies such as electromobility and autonomous
High communication and presenting skills both in text and verbally
Experience of working within the SAFe setup
Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
Sense of responsibility
Business and customer oriented
In addition, you are familiar with tools such as Simulink, Matlab, CANalyzer as well as rapid prototyping and systems development principles.
Since we often face mechanical challenges, it would be beneficial that you like mechanical problem solving. Knowledge in Volvo Tools and C-driving license are advantages. As a person you are driven, innovative and you have a passion for problem solving. You are open-minded and outgoing. You enjoy teamwork but at the same time you are able to work independently and drive development on your own. You most likely have a genuine interest in the automotive industry.
