Arbetsbeskrivning

Would you like to shape the future of transportation by developing new autonomous vehicle and machine solutions? If yes, then you are very welcome to apply for this position!

This is us, your new colleagues

Volvo Autonomous Solutions (V.A.S.) is a brand-new entity within the Volvo Group with the mission to offer transport solutions never seen before. We accelerate the development, commercialization and sales of autonomous transport solutions, focusing on defined segments for the on- and off-road space. With entirely new business models and advanced technology, we will meet and exceed expectations from customers and contributing to a society that we want to live in. We are yet a small but passionate and effective team that is stronger than the sum of its parts and ready to tackle the big challenges we have ahead of us. We are now looking for innovative, committed individuals to join us in our endeavor to create customer solutions that enhance safety, flexibility and productivity.

The Vehicle team within the V.A.S. Technology organization is responsible for vehicles, machines, trailers and safety systems in V.A.S. autonomous customer solutions. We take part in all life cycle phases, from the early specification and development phases throughout the maintenance and quality phases during customer operation. We interact closely with colleagues in Group Trucks Technology (GTT) & Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE) to secure base vehicle and machine readiness. We then develop and integrate the on-board autonomous driving systems and the off-board safety systems. It is our responsibility to ensure that the vehicles and machines can be operated by the autonomous driving system in a good and safe manner.

The role - What do we offer?

For our early-stage concepts and prototype vehicles, the team is responsible for integration and installation of our hardware automation kit into our target vehicles containing this as e.g. sensors, actuators, control units, computers, brackets and harnesses. Also supporting other teams with e.g. fault tracing and hardware knowledge is an important task.

As a build coordinator you will, together with other passionate team members in the Concept Vehicle Lab (CVL), secure the builds of our vehicles. You will be responsible for coordinating and planning all activities related to the builds; from receiving the vehicle from the factory to delivery to customer or project and being the catalyst-force through the vehicle’s transformation from manual vehicle to autonomous dito. You will need to network and coordinate activities with both internal stakeholders and team as well as external partners within and outside the Volvo making good networking and communication skills as key assets.

You will also participate and contribute to the continuous improvement work of our cutting-edge CVL including such as structure, way-of-working and not the least, safety.
You can look forward to an inspiring journey together with enthusiastic and professional colleagues throughout the Volvo Group organization. It is important that you enjoy working with new technology and contribute to a great team spirit.
