Within the responsibilities of IKEA of Sweden lies the development, sourcing, supply and strategy of IKEAs global range.
Job Description
In the Business Area Sourcing Specialist role, you will have a great opportunity to establish & develop high performing and diverse supplier base globally, cooperating with business teams across the Supply organization and together contributing towards the business goals. You will have a big responsibility to optimize our value chain that can make better products and service at lower total cost for the many people.
Your daily tasks will include:
• responsibility to secure supplier, supply chain and customer perspective through new products and improvements projects
• leading material selection in the new products development process, through own competence and through involving relevant competences
• securing input and preconditions from the Business Area to Category, in order for the Category to define optimal global sourcing set-up for new products and improvements on products
• responsibility to conclude business case based on global optimal sourcing set-up
• defining the optimal logistics set-up, considering both supplier and retail perspective
• based on assignment from Range & Product team, responsibility to lead deviation handling for running range
• responsibility to lead and secure the supply chain perspective of the pricing process
• contributing to IKEA offer, sourcing assignments and Product Development Processes
Qualifications
To succeed & shine in this role, we wish that you:
- have experience within related field such as Product development sourcing, Project leadership within Business or Product development or Purchasing and Business development
- have material and production knowledge (different Business Areas require different material backgrounds, meaning the fit for specific Business Area will be defined later)
- are strongly business driven and result oriented
- are proactive and take initiative to find the business set-up
- have knowledge of value chain and value chain analysis
- have the capability to lead with a holistic view, always having customer, supplier, and total cost in mind
- can lead and deliver results through own competence and involving and engaging others, independent of location
- are able to lead and contribute in projects Capability to analyze and draw conclusions from a total business perspective
- know how to perform risk assessment and scenario planning.
