Your role
We are looking for a forward looking business controller with strong personal drive to join our Business Control Centre. The role is focused around two areas, one being Fortum Group Central Functions and the other being projects. You will be the financial business partner to several executive or senior managers in Fortum's support functions, including Finance, HR, Procurement, Legal and Communication. The second focus area is projects where you will be the finance business partner for our development within Hydrogen. This development is managed by our subsidiary Uniper, which means that you will collaborate not only within Fortum but also with our colleagues in Uniper.
Challenging current ways of doing is an important part of this role and finding new and better ways forward is the natural next step. You will be responsible for the financial planning and follow up including monthly reporting and forecasting. Within the project area you will also participate in shaping the way we collaborate with Uniper in the ongoing integration work between the two companies.
We offer you
This is a chance for you to join an international group with a strong focus on driving the sustainability agenda within the energy sector. The role will give you a unique combination of two perspectives within Fortum. Group Central Functions will provide an opportunity to understand how Fortum is managed from a group perspective and projects will give you a chance to work in the forefront of our strategy with Hydrogen. This also provides you access to the integration process between Fortum and Uniper while at the same time working on expanding the Hydrogen area with several projects under way. We work actively to make the best out of the hybrid way of working and being a large international group we offer a dynamic combination of office based work, remote work and business travels.
Business Control Centre is a centralized business control unit in Corporate Finance, delivering flexible and efficient business controlling services across Fortum as well as developing business intelligence tools. We currently have around 40 business controllers in six different countries providing scalable, value adding and unified business controlling support. Being part of Business Control Centre gives you access to a wide community of finance professionals and great ways to build your own competence.
Your qualifications
You are a curious and forward looking individual who is motivated by change and new challenges. A strong ability to create relationships across an organization will play a key part in the success of this position. You will need both analytical skills for analyzing and understanding data as well as a strategic mindset to identify business development opportunities. People in your workplace find your communication open and transparent and you are good at building trust with other people. A relevant academic degree and at least 5 years of professional experience make you comfortable in setting your own agenda and making decisions when needed.
