Your main responsibility is to be the finance voice in Polestar R&D. Providing ongoing support, reporting and strategic analysis, including ad-hoc analysis to support business decisions.

We have an exciting opportunity at Polestar for a R&D Controller who can work within a fast-paced and challenging start-up organization. You will play an important role in the Polestar R&D team and global finance team supporting Polestar in its growth and expansion. In this finance role, you are a member of a dynamic and developing team. You will be working together with our growing R&D team. This role is key to steer the profitability of our future products.
What you'll do
Your main responsibility is to be the finance voice in Polestar R&D. Providing ongoing support, reporting and strategic analysis, including ad-hoc analysis to support business decisions. Leading the forecasting work both in short- and long- term aspects. Direct report to the Global R&D Controller.
Examples of tasks are:
- Deliver timely and accurate financial information, insights and reporting to enable operational business decisions.
- Establish and improve upon existing controlling activities in budget, planning and reporting.
- Support the technical team with financial expertise with both reporting and insights for further directions.
- Drive cost activities
- Constantly challenge the business and contribute in strategic discussions.
- Prepare ad hoc business cases
- Interface and related parties are Operational Controlling tea and Global R&D team.
- Become a member that will actively contribute to set up and develop a new finance team
Who you are
We think that you are a person with a lot of energy and broad experience in finance and automotive business. You have a holistic mindset but are not afraid for get into details and apply a solution-oriented approach. In this role it’s important to being able to interpret and communicate financial information in a clear and concise way.
Other important skills for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration (or similar)
- Minimum 5 years work experience
- Strong business acumen and automotive experience
- Good financial knowledge
- Ability to plan, coordinate and execute work with many different stakeholders involved
- Very good Excel skill
- Good team player and team building skills
