Business Controller - royalty

Among our customers are some of the world’s largest and most exciting brands as well as your local hairdresser around the corner. We’re now looking for a Business Controller - Royalty to join our amazing finance team.

The role

You will be one of the key members in our Business Controlling team and you will be reporting to the Head of Business Control. As a Business Controller - Royalty, you will become the royalty expert, working closely with different departments within the company and third parties. Being proactively involved in the financial and reporting parts of the licensing agreements as well as leading projects within the royalty reporting department.



What you’ll do:

- Proactively involved in the process of renegotiations of Royalty agreements and retrieve the reporting and financial information from the agreements
- Key person between departments within the company as well as with our third parties
- Monthly calculations of royalty cost and delivering monthly accruals to accounting
- Approval of royalty invoices
- Analyzing monthly royalty cost
- Responsible for external & third party audits
- Taking the lead on future projects relating to royalty reporting

You can prioritize your own workload and work independently and maintain a high level of communication, both internally and externally.

You have intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach and are willing to "roll up their sleeves"

- 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, operations, and/or strategy roles
- Prior experience with licensing and royalties from a financial perspective
- Deep knowledge with financial statements is a must; exposure to SaaS and/or content licensing business models preferred
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills with a deep understanding of model architecture
- Prior experience with Tableau and SQL is a plus, though you will be required to eventually learn and apply these skills on the job
