The Sustainability Team at Global Procurement is a key contributor to delivering Volvo Cars’ sustainability commitments across our global supply chains. With the shift towards electrification and decreased tailpipe emissions, supplier emissions will represent a greater part of the vehicles’ lifecycle footprint. To become a climate-neutral company, the importance of collaborating with our business partners and driving impact across the value chain is more important than ever before, and we must act now. By 2025, our total carbon emissions per car shall decrease by 40%, including major emission reductions from our supply chain.
The Sustainability Team works across two different products – Climate Action & Circular Economy and Responsible & Ethical Business. We are now looking for a new team member for the Climate Action & Circular Economy team, to enable successful deliveries within the area. In this product, we focus on driving emission reduction projects across the supply chain as well as integrating climate action consideration in Procurements’ business decisions.
Further, we are initiating and defining our work on Circular Economy.
Being part of the Sustainability team in Global Procurement, you will be involved in deliveries like:
Supporting the work of carbon-neutral supply chains, with the ambition of 100% climate-neutral energy by 2025 for tier 1 suppliers. Working to increase circularity in materials, by 2025, secure our ambition of 25% recycled plastics, and significantly increased the use of recycled steel and aluminum. Supporting procurement to secure our supply chains is responsible and ethical at all levels and tiers, aiming for full transparency and traceability.
Ensuring CO2, Circularity & Responsible Business is part of every sourcing decision and provides tools for buyers to act on sustainability elements with clarity and confidence. Measuring, reporting, and providing a holistic view of Climate action/Circularity/ Responsibility in the supply chain. Investigating new opportunities in renewable energy, materials, and responsible business that can be interesting for Volvo, in collaboration with our suppliers and our sustainability champions.
Do you fit the profile?
- Be highly knowledgeable in the sustainability field and know how to balance and merge environmental, social, and economic business aspects to shape the future of mobility.
- Be forward-looking with a proven track record in how to transform operations to become planet positive and contribute to a responsible and circular society.
- Understand the CO2 performance of Volvo Cars suppliers by collecting the right set of data using relevant standards and methodologies (e.g. GHG protocol)
- Have strong data management skills, take ownership, and have strong collaboration skills.
- Have prior experience working with supply chain evaluations or due diligence mapping.
- Be used to analyze complex sustainability data from digital sources to gain insights for business purposes and decision making.
